Angus Glen is one of Canada's most recognizable golf courses having been the host of the 2002 Bell Canadian Open as well as the 2001 Telus SKINS Game and the 2001 Bank of Montreal Canadian Women's Open. In 2007 Angus Glen will once again host the Bell Canadian Open.

What I have always loved about Angus Glen is the service. The staff is as friendly and helpful as any I have ever encountered which makes the green fee a little more bearable. The clubhouse is also one of the nicest you
will find anywhere in the country and is a great place to host a tournament or corporate event. Since day one, Angus Glen has consistently been ranked and one of Canada's best golf courses and after the first hole you can see why. This is a tough and long course where distance and accuracy are a necessity. This is not a course for your average weekend duffer. I have heard many golfers talk about the horrible day they had at Angus Glen because the course ate them up. If you are a below average player and want to play Angus Glen, play it for the experience and not for score, it will make your day and lot more enjoyable.

For lower handicap players, this course is a treat. Lots of bunkers, water and natural valley-land holes and rolling terrain make this a fun and challenging day. I can't stress enough how long you must be able to hot off the tee in order to have a chance to shoot low. Don't be afraid to play the White tees if you feel your driver isn't working for you.

Shot selection from the fairway requires some creativity and lots of course management. Many holes will challenge the golfer to shoot at the pin regardless of the danger surrounding it, where the smart play is sometimes away from the pin. Par on most holes is a great score.

Putting is also challenging and I strongly suggest hitting the putting green for 30 minutes before your round. The greens are fast so make sure you have your weight down or you can easily roll your putts from one side of the green to the other.

To sum up, be prepared to pay a little more, be prepared to bring your 'A' game and be prepared for a treat. Angus Glen does not disappoint.
